Helen grunar ekki hversu hryllilegt kvöld hún á í vændum þegar hún fer í afskekkt hús við skóginn til að passa Lucas litla. Hann kvartar og kveinar yfir því að illmenni sé í felum inni í skápnum sínum, og þegar Lucas hverfur sporlaust um miðja nótt þá fer Helen að gruna að hann hafi verið að segja satt.
CHILD EATER er byggð á samnefndri stuttmynd og þó svo hún hafi verið tekin upp í Bandaríkjunum, að stærstum hluta með amerísku tökuliði og leikurum, þá rennur rammíslenskt blóð um æðar myndarinnar. Handritshöfundur og leikstjóri hennar er Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen og tónlistina samdi Einar Sv. Tryggvason.

Flashlight in hand, Helen takes to the woods and follows Lucas’ trail straight to the old Bowery Zoo,
which is practically right in Lucas’ backyard.
DIRECTOR BIO
Erlingur Thoroddsen is an award winning writer and director born and raised in Reykjavík,
Iceland. He is a recent graduate from Columbia University’s MFA Film Directing Program,
where he completed two scary short films as his thesis projects:
CHILD EATER (2012), which was a Vimeo Staff Pick and has screened all over the world at
festivals (including SXSW, Mile High Horror Film Festival, New York Horror Film Festival and
Reykjavik International Film Festival) and THE BANISHING (2013), which had its North
American premiere at Screamfest in Los Angeles, where it won the Screamfest Launchpad
Award, sponsored by Matador Pictures.
Erlingur’s first feature is based on the CHILD EATER short and is anticipated to be released in
2016. He is currently in post production of his second feature film, RÖKKUR, which was filmed
in Iceland in the spring of 2016.
