Set in 1977 Brazil under a military dictatorship, this tense thriller follows Marcelo, a tech expert on the run, as he navigates political danger and personal betrayal during Recife’s Carnival.
Premiered at Cannes 2025, it won Best Director (Kleber Mendonça Filho), Best Actor (Wagner Moura), and the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film.
The Latin American Film Festival Reykjavík in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Oslo & Bíó Paradís, will host a premiere of the Brazilian film, The Secret Agent (2025), Thursday 4th December at 7pm.
