Synopsis (EN):
Set in rural Venezuela, when Alex, a deaf young man asks Leo, his estranged older brother, to join him in a talent contest that may change their lives, this salt-of the earth blue collar worker must dust off his long dormant musical chops in order to be his little brother's voice, so that the world can finally hear him.
Launched in 2018 in partnership with the European Commission, European Cinema Night celebrates the richness and diversity of European cinema and highlights the EU’s MEDIA programme’s role in supporting film culture and the audiovisual sector. Now in its eighth year, the initiative expands beyond Europe’s borders with a special Latin America & Caribbean edition.

Sinópsis (ES):
Ambientada en la Venezuela rural, Alex, un joven sordo, le pide a Leo, su hermano mayor con quien no se habla, que participe con él en un concurso de talentos que podría cambiar sus vidas, este honesto y humilde trabajador debe desempolvar sus dotes musicales que habían permanecido dormidos durante mucho tiempo, para ser la voz de su hermano pequeño y que el mundo por fin pueda oírlo.
Lanzada en 2018 en colaboración con la Comisión Europea, La European Cinema Night celebra la riqueza y diversidad del cine europeo y destaca el papel del programa MEDIA de la UE en el apoyo a la cultura cinematográfica y al sector audiovisual. Ahora, en su octavo año, la iniciativa se expande más allá de las fronteras de Europa con una edición especial de América Latina y el Caribe.
Para celebrar esta Edición de América Latina y el Caribe, Bíó Paradís presenta la película The Shadow of the Sun, con una sesión en vivo de preguntas y respuestas con el director venezolano Miguel Ángel Ferrer.
El evento se llevará a cabo el miércoles 3 de diciembre a las 19:00 horas.
