Kvikmyndahátíðin Latin American Film Festival er haldin í fyrsta sinn í Bíó Paradís dagana 19. – 27. nóvember 2022 í samstarfi við sendiráð Argentínu, Chile, Kólumbíu, Venesúela, Perú og Mexíkó.

Kvikmyndin Frumbyggjamorðinginn (Perú) verður sýnd fimmtudaginn 24. nóvember kl 19:00 en hún fjallar um fjóra vini sem halda hátíð til heiðurs verndara bæjarins, til þess að lina sorgir vegna nokkurra mannshvarfa.

Alþjóðafulltrúi Perú á Íslandi, Julio Antonio Ubillus Ramírez verður viðstaddur sýninguna.

Að sýningunni lokinni, verður sérstakt tilboð á perúskum drykk á Bíóbarnum. Hljómsveit Kristófers Rodriguez Svönuson mun halda uppi stuðinu og ýmislegt spennandi matarkyns verður til sölu.

The Latin American Film Festival is held for the first time at Bíó Paradís on November 19th -27th 2022 in collaboration with the Embassies of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Mexico.

The Peruvian film Mataindios (Indigenous’ Slayer) will be screened on Thursday November 24th at 19:00. 

Four villagers organize a festival in honor of the town’s patron saint to end the pain caused by the disappearance of several of their relatives. The villagers believe that if the Patron saint is pleased, the town will be able to end their years of mourning. The four villagers overcome many problems to organize a brilliant celebration, which will conclude with the symbolic burial of all the missing relatives. However, when one of the four has a terrible accident, they take this as a bad omen and a sign that the patron saint may not want to calm their sorrows at all.

Julio Antonio Ubillús, Head of Chancery of Perú in Iceland, will attend the premiere.

To celebrate after the screening, we will have band of Kristofer Rodríguez Svönuson and DJ Javi Valiño warming up our ears and feet. For sale! Gastronomía Quindiana will bring some great Colombian empanadas, buñuelos and colombian style cheese. Special Latino beers on the bar!
