Ushimado er lítið sjávarþorp sem setið hefur eftir í hraðri nútímavæðingu Japans eftir stríð. Samfélagið eldist, íbúum fækkar og aldagömul menning er hverfandi. Ljóðræn og næm heimildamynd um fólk og samfélag á tímamótum, við hið draumkennda Seto-innhaf. 

Inland Sea (2018) er sýnd sem hluti af Heimildaveislu SKL í Bíó Paradís dagana 3.–5. september, í tengslum við vinnusmiðju SKL sem haldin er með styrk frá Kvikmyndamiðstöð Íslands.

Forsaken by the era of modernization of post-war Japan, Ushimado is rapidly aging and declining. Its rich, ancient culture and the tightknit community are also on the verge of disappearing. This documentary poetically depicts the twilight days of a village and its people by the dreamlike Inland Sea. 

Inland Sea (2018) is screened as part of SKL Documentary Celebration at Bíó Paradís, September 3–5, held in connection with an SKL workshop supported by the Icelandic Film Centre.
